Job summary

Woojin IS America, Inc. is seeking an experienced RAMS Engineer to apply RAMS principles across refurbishment and modernization of rail vehicles and systems.

You will work with engineering, quality, manufacturing and project teams to identify risks, perform analyses and develop RAMS documentation that meets customer and safety requirements. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in RAMS, reliability or safety engineering and experience with FMEA/FMECA, fault trees, hazard analyses and risk assessments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Transportation Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in RAMS, reliability, systems engineering or safety engineering.
• Experience applying RAMS methodologies to rail, rolling stock, transportation or other safety-critical systems.
• Demonstrated experience with FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, Hazard Analysis, Risk Assessment and Root Cause Analysis.
• Understanding of MTBF, MTTR, failure rates, availability and reliability growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain RAMS plans, analyses, reports and documentation for refurbishment and modernization projects.
• Translate RAMS requirements into engineering and project requirements.
• Perform RAMS analyses for rail vehicle systems, subsystems and components.
• Conduct RAMS analyses such as FMEA/FMECA, FTA, hazard analyses and risk assessments.
• Identify critical failure modes and system risks; develop mitigation actions and monitor implementation.
• Support hazard logs, risk registers, failure reporting and corrective actions.
• Analyze field and test data to identify reliability trends and recurring problems.
• Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective actions.
• Establish RAMS performance indicators and monitor reliability metrics.
• Support verification and validation, testing and field troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with design, quality, manufacturing and suppliers on RAMS implications.
