Job summary

Unifi Aviation LLC in Madison, WI is seeking a Ramp Lead to supervise a team responsible for marshaling aircraft, loading and unloading baggage, and maintaining safety on the ramp. The role may include cabin-service duties and operating ramp equipment as needed.

The position requires leadership, reliability, and the ability to work in outside conditions with rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays. Training and safety standards are emphasized to ensure operations run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to obtain credentials required by airport/state or customs requirements.

Responsibilities

• Marshal the aircraft on the ramp for all arriving, departing and towed aircraft.
• Supervises a team of ramp service agents.
• Perform other related duties within the appropriate skill, experience, and capabilities expected for this position.
• Immediately report safety and security incidents and potential hazards per Unifi policies.
• Complete work in a safe and secure manner following company standards.
• May perform cabin service duties such as servicing the aircraft, cleaning lavatories and cabin, restocking supplies.
• Operate ramp equipment like bag tugs, belt loaders, tow tractors, water servicing vehicles, and lavatory servicing vehicles.
• Load, unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, airmail, freight and company material.
• Perform wing walker duties to protect the aircraft wing from equipment and during pushback/de-ice as required.

Job Duties

• Marshal the aircraft on the ramp all arriving, departing and towed aircraft.

• Perform wing walker duties to protect the aircraft wing from equipment in the path of pushback and de-ice aircraft as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of relevant work experience in the aviation or ground handling services industry.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to constantly lift up to 70lbs and more, push, pull, walk, stand, reach above shoulder, stoop, squat, kneel, bend, reach out, and grasp; and frequently climb, and crawl.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to work in rotating shifts and hours, nights, weekends and holidays, overtime.
• Must be able and open to work in outside weather conditions which may include severe seasonal elements.
