Job summary

Unifi is seeking individuals to join our growing team who are passionate, have integrity, and empathize with how their words and decisions affect our employees, customers, and partners. In this role you will lead a ramp team and marshal aircraft in and out of gate, loading, unloading and sorting baggage.

You may operate ramp equipment such as bag tugs, belt loaders and aircraft tow tractors, perform wing walker duties to protect the wing, and may assist with cabin service duties.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to obtain credentials required by airport/state/customs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a ramp team and marshal aircraft in and out of gates and load/unload baggage.
  • Supervise ramp agents and report incidents in line with safety policies.
  • May perform cabin service duties and operate ramp equipment as needed.
  • Load, unload and transfer passenger baggage, airmail and freight; assist with wing walker duties.

Job Duties:

Marshal the aircraft on the ramp all arriving, departing and towed aircraft . Supervises a team of agents in ramp service duties. Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill , experience, and capabilities expected for this position. Immediately report safety and security incidents as well as potential hazards in line with the Unifi Fair and Just Culture Policy. Complete work in a safe and secure manner, following company safety and operational standards M ay be assigned cabin service duties like servicing the aircraft , cleaning lavatories and cabin, restocking supplies, and other items. O perate ramp equipment like bag tugs, belt loaders, aircraft tow tractors, water servicing vehicles, and lavatory servicing vehicles. Load, unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, airmail, freight and company material in and out of aircraft bins, belt loaders or baggage carts. Perform wing walker duties to protect the aircraft wing from equipment in the path of pushback and de-ice aircraft as required .

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent education.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain credentials required as per airport or state or customs requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of relevant work experience in the aviation or ground handling services industry.
Physical requirements:
  • Must be able to constantly lift up to 70lbs and more, push, pull, walk, stand, reach above shoulder, stoop, squat, kneel, bend, reach out, and grasp; and frequently climb, and crawl.
Working conditions:
  • Must be able to work in rotating shifts and hours, nights, weekends and holidays, overtime.
  • Must be able and open to work in outside weather conditions which may include severe seasonal elements.
