Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Ramp Agent to help flights run on time by handling cargo, baggage, and ground movements while maintaining accurate records.

You will operate motorized equipment, read loading instructions, and work outdoors in all weather, with flexible shifts and a commitment to safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED, or six months ramp agent experience.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug testing.
• Capable of lifting up to 70 lbs. repeatedly.
• Must speak/read/write English proficiently.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record in the past 5 years.
• Available for variable shifts including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• No schedule conflicts or vacations during first 90 days.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to obtain airport and Customs badges/seals.

Responsibilities

• Lift/move 70 lbs of cargo and baggage on/off aircraft and transport between aircraft, terminals, and facilities.
• Operate motorized equipment as required for ramp operations.
• Read and interpret weight, balance loading instructions, and baggage/cargo routing tags.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Purpose

The Ramp Agent plays an important role in ensuring that flights run on time by maintaining detailed records of shipped goods, moving baggage and cargo from aircraft, and guiding aircraft to and from their gates.

What you will be doing

• Comfortably and continuously lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals and air cargo facilities.
• Frequent bending, stretching push/pulling, stacking and kneeling in small, confined locations.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have high school diploma, GED or six months prior ramp agent work experience.
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test.
• Capable of safely lifting up to 70 lbs. continuously.
• Must be able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English proficiently.
• Must have current/valid DRIVER's LICENSE with no violations over the past 5 years.
• Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Must have availability with no schedule conflict or scheduled vacation during the first 90-days of work.
• Work is done primarily outdoors. Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airport and Custom badge/seals.
