Job summary

The City of Raleigh's Office of Internal Audit invites college students to apply for an eight-month Internship Program. You will receive structured guidance from the internal audit manager on assigned tasks, with auditors having varied public and private sector backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Local college student majoring in accounting, finance, economics, marketing, or general business administration.
• Junior level status; NCSU MAC students encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
• Some understanding of internal control concepts (e.g., COSO).
• Willingness to learn and ask questions.

Responsibilities

• Perform data analytic reviews of City transactions.
• Shadow the internal audit manager on fieldwork.
• Update PDF audit reports for ADA accessibility.
• Revamp audit workpaper templates to align with YellowBook standards.
• Create a communication framework to share audit updates and risks internally.
