A community support organization in Naples is seeking a Raising Gentlemen Advocate to engage boys and young men in discussions about healthy masculinity. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, education, psychology, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Raising Gentlemen Advocate - Naples
Domestic Violence Prevention Services

Location: Naples, FL, with frequent local travel to Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) and community organizations. May be required to travel to Immokalee Campus.
Reports to: Outreach Program Manager
Employment Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Hourly, On-site (In-person)

The Shelter's Raising Gentlemen Program engages boys and young men in discussions about healthy masculinity, relationships, and violence prevention. Candidates with experience mentoring boys and young men or facilitating male-focused youth programming are strongly encouraged to apply.

Non-Negotiables: Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, education, psychology, or related field; OR equivalent experience
  • Experience facilitating programming for boys and young men or mentoring male youth strongly preferred.
  • Experience in domestic violence intervention, prevention, or advocacy preferred
  • Strong public speaking and facilitation skills with the ability to engage youth and community audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and remain calm in emotionally sensitive situations
  • Experience with trauma-informed practices and survivor-centered approaches preferred
  • Ability to effectively use computers and maintain accurate documentation
What You’ll Do

You will help engage boys and young men in meaningful conversations about healthy relationships, respect, and the prevention of domestic violence through dynamic education and community outreach programming.

Advocacy & Support
  • Provide trauma-informed guidance and support to youth participants when appropriate
  • Assist with referrals and safety planning when concerns related to domestic violence arise
  • Create a welcoming and safe learning environment for all program participants
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate documentation and statistical reporting for program activities and outcomes for monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Collaborate with the Quality Improvement Team to administer program evaluations such as pre- and post-assessments
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and program planning activities
Prevention Education
  • Deliver engaging prevention education programs to boys and young men focused on healthy relationships and non-violent communication
  • Facilitate discussions and activities that challenge harmful social norms and explore gender roles, boundaries, and respect
  • Implement the Gentlemen Against Domestic Violence curriculum and other prevention initiatives
  • Promote emotional regulation, communication skills, and conflict resolution strategies among youth participants
Program Development & Community Engagement
  • Collaborate with your team to design and implement prevention initiatives that meet program goals and funder requirements
  • Develop and maintain responsive curriculum and activities for youth of varying ages
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and faith-based partners to expand prevention programming
  • Participate in outreach events and community education opportunities
