Job summary

PSC Group is seeking a Railroad Track Maintenance Technician to perform outdoor work on railroad tracks. This full-time role includes inspecting, maintaining, and repairing track components with hand and power tools, prioritizing safety and reliability.

Ideal candidates have track maintenance experience, may hold a Driver's License or TWIC, and can pass drug, medical, and background checks. On-site attendance and fluent English are required, with growth opportunities within a long‑standing

Qualifications

  • Track inspection/maintenance experience preferred.
  • Railcar or industrial/mechanical experience is a plus.
  • May require a valid Driver's License and/or a valid TWIC card.
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams.
  • Speak, write, read fluent English.
  • Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required.
  • Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine railroad track inspections and document defects/conditions.
  • Perform basic track maintenance and repairs using hand and power tools.
  • Assist with track repairs, ballast work, fasteners, and rerailing as needed.
  • Log inbound railcars and complete the site's established railcar inspection checklist.
  • Document railcar defects and communicate cars requiring additional repair.
  • Perform basic non‑lading railcar repairs within the site's approved scope, including permitted brake‑related items, placards, and other minor repairs.
  • Maintain inspection and repair records.
  • Work safely around railcars, locomotives, tracks, and other heavy equipment.
  • Performs other duties as required to support safe and efficient track operations.
