Overview

RailPros is a provider of engineering and diversified safety services to America’s rail and transit industry. This role supports field operations with on-site roadway worker protection, job site coordination, dispatcher/train communication, and On-Track Safety in controlled and non-controlled track areas. Extensive travel across multiple states is required. The position requires adaptability, strong commitment to safety, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Provide required jobsite protection on each assignment, including radio communication with train dispatchers and engineers, ensuring work groups are clear of limits during train movements, and granting permission for trains and on-track equipment to proceed through limits.
  • Perform daily job briefings with all personnel on the job site and ensure adherence to railroad safety requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required electronic forms (e.g., job setup forms, daily work reports, invoices, and other reports as required).
  • Handle and place signs, derail and other tools/equipment weighing 15 to 90 pounds as needed.
  • Actively participate in routine safety classes and qualification training.
  • Maintain communication with RWIC supervisors and managers regarding assignments and schedules.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture and uphold integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Travel & Locations
  • Extensive travel across Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays, in alignment with project schedules.
  • Eligible for daily per diems for meals and hotels, plus mileage reimbursement for billable days.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: able to complete required physical demands; warn roadway workers of train approaches; understand on-track safety training and qualification requirements; proficient in radio procedures for RWIC/EIC communications; proficient in conducting job briefings; able to place railroad advance warning and stop signs; able to install a railroad derail and apply locking devices; proficient with electronic communications and standard office applications.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of 10 years of RWIC experience with BNSF or 15+ years of service with a Class I or Class II freight railroad.
  • Employment contingent upon successful pre-employment and recurring background checks, drug and alcohol testing, onboarding and recurring training, including assessments.
