Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. is seeking a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Price, UT to oversee construction, maintenance, and safety for freight railroads and transit systems.

The CIC ensures work within railroad rights-of-way is safe and compliant and coordinates with train crews and supervisors. The role requires strong communication, organizational, and computer skills, plus a valid driver's license and 2+ years in a railroad environment.

Qualifications

• Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability for long-term travel assignments, including multi-month deployments.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company, preferred in maintenance of way or TY&E.
• Successful completion of required training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Conduct job briefings and ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214).
• Monitor track conditions and coordinate train movements with dispatchers.
• Document activities, briefings, incident reports, and logs for management and regulators.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies.
