Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services, LLC (DCS) is seeking a Railroad Crossing Applicator to join our team for a full-time seasonal position across the United States. You will apply vegetation control treatments at railroad crossings, following contract specifications with safety as a priority.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel 4–6 weeks at a time. Training is provided, and compensation starts at $20 per hour with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 21+ years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 5 years of clean driving history.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check for railroad property access.
• Ability to travel away from home for 4–6 weeks at a time (DCS provides hotel accommodations and per diem).
• Most work is Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm, with 10–12-hour shifts.
• Some weekend or night work may be required.
• Hours may vary with weather and workload.
• Occasionally travel to offices during breaks for routine truck/equipment maintenance.
• Must comply with company drug and alcohol policy.

Responsibilities

• Fill trucks with water/chemical mix.
• Perform minor weed eating with an industrial weed eater and chainsaw work (16" bar minimum) – approx. 25% of each day.
• Pull and roll up 300–500 feet of hose up to 32 times per day.
• Safely drive and operate spray trucks between crossings.
• Call MTM for daily job briefings.
• Complete required end-of-day paperwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Paid training in vegetation identification, chemical usage, safety procedures, application methods, and equipment operation/maintenance.
