Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks a Construction Inspector to support safety monitoring on railroad construction sites in the Ashburn, VA area.

The role reports to the District Manager and requires 50%–85% travel. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of civil construction inspection experience, with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build client relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of civil construction inspection experience.
• Proficient with Android OS on tablets and smartphones.

Responsibilities

• Provide worksite monitoring of constructions crews to verify safety compliance.
• Maintain detailed records of jobsite activities and compliance issues.
• Document deviations from plans, safety concerns, requesting corrective actions, and ensuring issues are resolved.
• Submit daily field reports detailing Contractor and/or Railroad activities.
• Provide clear, concise, and thorough safety briefings with all personnel on each site.
• Intervene as needed when safety, compliance, or policies are violated.
