Job summary

Martinus is seeking a Bridge Laborer in Missouri to join our crew building timber railroad bridges. This full-time role involves using hand tools and operating heavy equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, repairing tracks and bridge structures, replacing ties and rails, and handling ballast material. A valid driver’s license is preferred; CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience a plus.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safety conscious work ethic.
• Repair and rebuild railroad track & bridge structures using hydraulic or hand tools.
• Remove and replace ties and rails; pull and drive spikes; shovel rock ballast; load and unload equipment and material.
• Use various types of tools and equipment, including tampers, regulators, backhoes, torches, hammers, jacks, and other mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot problems on equipment.
• Be familiar with federal and state regulations as they relate to the railroad industry.
• Ability to update rules and manuals to assure continuous compliance with all railroad regulations.
• Adhere to and promote safe work practices.
