Job summary

Professional Transportation, Inc. through Auto Ramp Services is seeking an Unload/Auto Handler to move vehicles on/off rail cars, outside in all weather. This fast-paced, physical role requires safe handling of customer and company property, shift options include days and weekends.

No prior experience required! Training provided on the job, with opportunities for growth within PTI network and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to maintain eRail certification credentials as required by the railroad.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to work in all outdoor conditions including rain, snow, heat, wind, cold, etc.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Must safely adjust rail cars to set up unloading out of the rail cars.
• Must safely move vehicles off the rail car to set up for pick up or shipment.
• Must drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles, including oversized vehicles.
• Work in tight and narrow spaces.
• Participate in job briefings with the Supervisors and crew before work begins.
• Wear PPE such as safety vest and safety toe boots when required.
• Maintain clear communication with other crew members while moving vehicles.
• Inspect all rail equipment and vehicles for damage and notify if found.
• Handle all rail equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Maintain awareness and organization within the auto yard facility.
