Job summary

PSC Group is hiring a Rail Switching Technician for outdoor work at our Ticonderoga, NY facility. The role focuses on safely moving railcars within an industrial setting, requiring strong safety awareness and teamwork.

The position is full-time and based in Ticonderoga, NY, with nearby commuting options from Port Henry, Crown Point, Schroon Lake, and VT towns. We offer paid training, excellent benefits, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid Driver’s License.
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Speak, write, read fluent English.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required.
• Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available.
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reviews track lists to identify and organize railcars for spotting, separating, loading, or outbound movement.
• Ensures railcars are properly connected and secured by setting brakes and verifying couplings.
• Separates loaded cars for shipment from preloaded or empty railcars.
• Weighs inbound and outbound cars to confirm compliance with weight limits.
• Performs additional duties as needed, including supporting basic maintenance activities, to ensure support safe and efficient rail operations.
