Job summary

TTX Company is seeking a Railcar Repairman (Carman) to repair, modify and upgrade railcars according to blueprints and specifications. You will weld and fabricate parts, operate cutting torches, and use a variety of hand and power tools during mechanical work that accounts for most daily tasks.

The role requires reading plans, testing repaired assemblies, and maintaining safe work practices in outdoor settings with lifting and heavy equipment. Training may be provided and shift hours can vary.

Qualifications

• Experience with welding and cutting in heavy equipment environments.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow specifications for railcar repairs.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools and introductory measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Repair, modify and upgrade railcars per blueprints and specs.
• Weld up to 30% of tasks and fabricate components.
• Operate forklift and use cutting torch and grinders as needed.
• Inspect and test repaired parts for proper operation.
