Amtrak is seeking a Carmen Helper in Long Island City to perform exterior and interior cleaning of rolling stock equipment, manage waste systems, and support yard operations. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, forklift operation, and adherence to safety and training requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must successfully complete training and/or attain/retain certifications applicable to this job.
• Valid government issued driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform exterior/interior cleaning of rolling stock equipment, toilet shrouds, trash cans, etc.
• Use a forklift.
• Use a waste disposal system (truck, portable cart, manual, etc.).
• Perform car watering.
• Perform carpet shampooing.
• Performing all other duties as assigned.
• May assist other craft personnel in the performance of their duties.
