Job summary

VIVA USA Inc in Seattle is seeking a Commissioning Technician to perform field modifications, installation verification, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of rail vehicle systems.

This role requires a highly skilled technician with electrical and mechanical expertise who can interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation to execute modifications and resolve issues with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
• Experience performing field modifications and validating system functionality.
• Proficiency with multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and related diagnostic tools.
• Mechanical aptitude with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while ensuring safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform field modifications, retrofits, and upgrades on rail vehicles and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems from 24VDC to 480VAC.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions.
• Verify proper installation and functionality through testing and commissioning activities.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions per engineering requirements.
• Conduct system testing, inspections, and operational validation for performance and safety.
• Generate clear documentation of work performed, deficiencies, actions, and results.
• Support startup, commissioning, warranty, and field service activities at customer sites.
• Work independently with high-quality workmanship and safety adherence.
