Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Rail & Transit Technical Director to lead and grow rail and transit teams on key project pursuits, providing strategic and technical leadership for multidisciplinary groups.

You will oversee major proposals, staffing, and project delivery strategies while coordinating across offices and regions to deliver complex rail systems projects on time and within budget. This role also includes mentoring future leaders in Parsons' Rail Systems practice.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• Registered Professional Engineer designation.
• 10+ years of related work experience.
• 5+ years in a managerial role.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary rail and transit teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow Parsons' Rail and Transit teams on key pursuits with strategic and technical direction.
• Develop and maintain relationships with transit agencies, rail operators, contractors, technology providers and partners.
• Lead major pursuits including strategies, proposals, staffing, and project delivery approaches.
• Provide oversight for delivery of complex rail and transit projects within scope, schedule and budget.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across offices and regions for efficient project delivery.
• Support systems engineering, integration, requirements, configuration, and safety certification activities.
• Foster collaboration among technical disciplines and client stakeholders for safe, reliable rail operations.
• Mentor emerging technical and project leaders within the Rail Systems practice.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Rail & Transit Technical Director to join our team! In this role you will get to lead and grow rail and transit teams on key project pursuits while providing strategic and technical leadership for multidisciplinary teams.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead and grow Parsons' Rail and Transit teams focused on SEPTA pursuits and bus centric projects, providing strategic leadership and technical direction for a multidisciplinary team of rail transit professionals.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with transit agencies, rail operators, contractors, technology providers, and industry partners.

• Serve as a senior leader for major pursuits, including development of winning strategies, proposal preparation, staffing plans, organizational structures, technical approaches, and project delivery strategies.

• Provide oversight and technical leadership for the delivery of complex rail and transit systems projects, ensuring successful execution of the rail systems scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client objectives.

• Lead multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices and geographic regions, coordinating engineering resources to efficiently deliver complex projects and programs.

• Provide strategic direction and technical support for systems engineering, systems integration, requirements management, configuration management, systems assurance, safety certification, testing and commissioning activities across projects.

• Foster collaboration between technical disciplines, operations, maintenance, construction, and client stakeholders to ensure successful integration of all project elements into a safe and reliable operating railway.

• Mentor and develop emerging technical and project leaders, supporting succession planning and long-term growth of the Rail Systems practice.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Masters degree in engineering (or related technical discipline)

• Registered Professional Engineer

• 10+ years of related work experience

• 5+ years of experience in a managerial position

• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary rail and transit systems design and delivery teams on major transit and railway infrastructure programs.

• Proven experience managing the design, integration, and delivery of one or more of the following rail systems (vehicle engineering, systems, related disciplines):

• Proven ability to work on project proposals to identify and integrate winning strategies

• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and successfully lead project teams in a collaborative environment.

• Demonstrated leadership, communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Salary Range: $176,900.00 - $332,400.00
