Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Inspector for Traction Power Substations & Overhead Contact Systems in Seattle to verify Contractor conformance on a light rail extension project. You will document field activities, review submittals, RFIs, and code compliance under the Resident Engineer and Construction Engineer.

The role requires 5+ years in traction power or high-voltage systems, knowledge of NEC/NESC/NFPA 70E, and willingness to work nights or weekends on site during construction.

Qualifications

5+ years of inspection/testing on traction power systems.
Familiar with NEC, NESC and NFPA 70E requirements.
On-site Seattle work, including nights/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

Verify Contractor conformance to contract documents and codes.
Inspect TPSS and OCS installations and components.
Document field activities with IDRs and photos.
Monitor safety compliance and report unsafe conditions.
Support punch lists, commissioning and closeout inspections.

Skills

DC traction power equipment knowledge

Grounding & bonding

OCS installation knowledge

NEC/NESC/NFPA 70E familiarity

Valid driver's license

Willingness to night/weekend work

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Technical training or electrical engineering/technology degree (preferred)
