Job summary

The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration is seeking an A-Repairman-Track & Way Maintainer to repair, install, inspect, and clean running rail, guard rails, closure rails and related track fasteners and accessories.

The role involves flagging, welding, grinding, fabrication, removal, repair, installation and scheduled maintenance on metro and light rail tracks and related structures, in accordance with MTA standards and applicable laws.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of railroad/track maintenance experience.
• Medical evaluation required to determine ability to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Repair, install, inspect, and clean running rails, guard rails, closure rails, and track fasteners and accessories.
• Perform flagging, welding, grinding, fabrication, removal, repair, installation, and scheduled maintenance on metro and light rail tracks and related structures.
• Work in accordance with MTA track standards, design plans/specifications and Federal and State law.
