Job summary

Metro, based in Los Angeles, is seeking a Supervising Rail Track Maintenance worker to oversee repair and maintenance of track systems and related infrastructure. This role ensures a safe, reliable rail network for riders and supports emergency response and project work.

You will plan and assign tasks, troubleshoot faults, supervise crews, conduct inspections, maintain records, enforce Cal/OSHA safety rules, and coordinate with vendors while ensuring compliance with contract and labor

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent training; necessary knowledge and hands-on skills.
• Three years of rail track installation, repair, and maintenance experience.
• Must comply with Cal/OSHA regulations and wear required safety gear.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and assigns repair and maintenance work of track-related systems and equipment.
• Investigates, troubleshoots, and diagnoses track system problems and develops maintenance procedures.
• Conducts track inspections and approves inspection reports.
• Develops and administers preventive maintenance programs; maintains tracking system of repairs and maintenance work.
• Develops and administers staff training programs.
• Enforces safety regulations and instructs subordinates on safety devices and procedures.
• Provides input on design and maintenance of track systems for new rail projects.
