Job summary

V/Line in Bendigo is seeking a Way Maintainer (Rail Track Labourer) for day shift duties. You’ll join a track maintenance team, performing hands-on tasks to keep rail services safe and reliable in an outdoor setting.

The role involves supporting rail infrastructure renewal, operating tools and equipment, and assisting with rail corridor upkeep while following strict safety protocols. A current driver’s licence and Year 10 completion are required.

Qualifications

• Current valid driver's licence.
• Year 10 completion.
• Availability to work across a Day shift schedule.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely in a physically demanding outdoor environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out tasks for renewal or maintenance across the rail network.
• Participate in replacement or renewal of rail infrastructure materials (sleepers, rail, ballast, fastenings).
• Safe operation of medium plant as required.
• Clean up plant equipment and worksite; participate in general site maintenance.
• Use and maintain hand tools and minor mechanical equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with OH&S standards and regulations.
