Job summary

PSC Group is hiring dependable, safety-minded individuals for a full-time Rail Switching role outdoors at an industrial facility. You will move railcars, verify connections, and support day-to-day operations with paid training and strong safety emphasis.

Qualified applicants should be 18+, able to pass a drug screen and background check, and ready for a 12-hour rotating shift. TWIC or driver's license may be required depending on location. PSC Group promotes from within and offers solid benefits.

Qualifications

• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
• May require a valid Driver's License and/or a valid TWIC card depending on work location.
• Paid on-the-job training is available.
• Ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review track lists to identify and organize railcars for spotting, loading, or outbound movement.
• Ensure railcars are properly connected and secured by setting brakes and verifying couplings.
• Separate loaded cars for shipment from preloaded or empty railcars.
• Weigh inbound and outbound cars to confirm compliance with weight limits.
• Perform additional duties to support safe and efficient rail operations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Reviews track lists to identify and organize railcars for spotting, separating, loading, or outbound movement
• Ensures railcars are properly connected and secured by setting brakes and verifying couplings
• Separates loaded cars for shipment from preloaded or empty railcars
• Weighs inbound and outbound cars to confirm compliance with weight limits
• Performs additional duties as needed to support safe and efficient rail operations

Job Qualifications:

• Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on‑the‑job training is available
• May require a valid Driver's License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
• Speak, write, read fluent English
• Regular on‑site attendance and punctuality is required
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus

Work Schedule:

12 hour rotating shift (alternates between days / nights) Includes holidays and weekends
