Job summary

CSX Corporation seeks a Freight Conductor to safely coordinate train crews on a freight train, position rail cars for loading and unloading, and makeup/breakdown trains in yards or customer facilities.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• One year of related experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend operating rules, bulletins and regulatory documents.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely coordinate train crews on a freight train.
• Place rail cars to facilitate loading and unloading.
• Makeup/breakdown trains in a yard or customer facility.
• Wear CSX approved protective equipment and follow safety rules.
• Work nonstandard hours with on-call, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Report to work within required timeframes and comply with drug testing.
• Possibly relocate within 50 miles of posted location if needed.
