Job summary

RailWorks is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare take-offs and cost estimates for construction bids. The role includes analyzing blueprints, soliciting subcontractor pricing, and coordinating bid documents for multimillion-dollar projects.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of estimating experience and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of construction estimating experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of plan reading and interpretation.
• Proficiency in reviewing contract documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Reads and interprets contract documents relating to the assigned divisions.
• Solicits subcontractor/vendor pricing information.
• Analyzes bids from subcontractors for completeness and accuracy in scope of work.
• Prepares take-offs and quantity surveys.
• Prepares and submits multimillion-dollar bids to clients for company services.
