Job summary

Wabtec is seeking an entry-level production associate in Piedmont, SC to perform assembly tasks on a production line and move materials through the line. You will follow SOPs, inspect components, sign off on work, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

This role emphasizes safety, teamwork and adherence to instructions. The position involves reading drawings, operating tools, and using a forklift, with a starting hourly rate of $20.00.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of manufacturing and/or assembly operations.
• Experience with adherence to safe work practices and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Quality mindset ensuring customer expectations are achieved.
• Teamwork and promotion of positive culture
• 1-year general technician or operator
• Demonstrated hands‑on / mechanical skills
• Ability to utilize hand tools, handle/move material, and adhere to manufacturing instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly tasks within a production line.
• Complete transactions, paperwork and signoffs related to work performed.
• Adhere to manufacturing instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Perform inspection and test of individual components and final assemblies.
• Move material by forklift, hand, cart and crane as required.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Operate tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain clean work environment and perform end of shift housekeeping.
• Use tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Interpret work instructions, schematics, blueprints, and drawings.
• Tag and/or serialize components.
• Adherence to all housekeeping and safety rules.
• Other duties as required.
