Origin Travel Nurses in Kansas is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform X-ray exams using standard, portable, and specialized equipment, ensuring patient safety and image quality. The role includes collaboration with physicians and timely image transfer to PACS.

Ideal candidates will hold an AMA-accredited Radiographic Technology credential, ARRT RT(R) or registry-eligible status, and a Kansas license, with BLS certification and ongoing ARRT CE credits as required.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an AMA-accredited program with a degree or certificate in Radiographic Technology.
• Certification: ARRT RT(R) or registry-eligible (must register within one year).
• Licensure: Current Kansas Board of Healing Arts license on hire.
• Life Support: BLS certification required.
• Continuing Education: 24 CE credits every 2 years in line with ARRT guidelines.

An X-ray tech (Radiology Technologist) operates standard, portable, and specialized X-ray equipment to perform routine and semi-complex diagnostic exams for physician interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Exams: Prepare patients, position them correctly, and take X-rays safely following established procedures.


• Manage Images: Process films, ensure correct lead markers and data, and transfer images promptly to the PACS system.


• Administer Media: Give contrast media and approved medications within your scope of practice.


• Maintain Safety: Follow strict radiation safety guidelines and use aseptic technique to clean rooms and equipment between patients.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an AMA-accredited program with a degree or certificate in Radiographic Technology.


• Certification: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as RT(R) or registry-eligible (must register within one year).


• Licensure: Current license with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts (temporary or permanent) upon hire.


• Life Support: Basic Life Support (BCLS/BLS) certification required.


• Continuing Education: Adhere to ARRT guidelines by completing 24 continuing education credits every two years.
