Job summary

Compass Memorial Healthcare is seeking a radiologic technologist for a full-time weekend option role, working Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. The position includes base pay plus a 60% weekend premium.

You will perform X-ray and CT imaging in the ER, inpatients, and outpatients, with emphasis on patient safety and high-quality readings. Required are a radiologic technology degree, ARRT certification, Iowa permit to practice, and PACS knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduate from an AMA approved school of radiologic technology.
• ARRT certificate.
• Iowa Permit to Practice.
• Knowledge of PACS.
• Maintain 24 hours of continuing education every two years.
• Ability to work with a variety of computer-related equipment.
• CT experience is a plus; onsite CT training available; those without CT experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for quality patient care and safety.
• Documents symptoms to aid the radiologist in obtaining a quality reading of the exam; performs portable radiography in ER, patient rooms, and surgical areas.
• Performs radiographic examinations on trauma patients and patients in life-threatening situations.
• Follows infection control policies and procedures.
• Responsible for cleanliness and daily maintenance of imaging equipment.
• Follows department and hospital policy and procedures.

This is a Full-time Weekend Option position working Friday, Saturday/Sunday 6:00 P.M. - 6:00 A.M. The Weekend technologist receives premium pay of base plus 60%.

Primary Function

Performs a variety ofimaging procedures including X-Ray and CT on ER patients, inpatients, and outpatients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for quality patient care and safety
• Documents symptoms to aid the radiologist in obtaining a quality reading of the exam.
  Performs portable radiography in the emergency department, patient’s rooms, and surgical area
• Performs radiographic examinations on trauma patients and patients in other life-threatening circumstances
• Follows infection control policies and procedures
• Responsible for cleanliness and daily maintenance of imaging equipment
• Follows department and hospital policy and procedures

Education, Experience and Training

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Graduate from an AMA approved school of radiologic technology
• ARRT certificate
• Iowa Permit to Practice
• Knowledge of PACS
• Maintain 24 hours of continuing education every Two (2) years
• Must have the ability to work with a variety of computer-related equipment
• CT experience is a plus but onsite CT training with a Certified CT technologist is available Those without CT experience are encouraged to apply
