Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist Supervisor at Emory Johns Creek Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the daily operation of radiology patient services, including directing and educating staff, maintaining equipment and supplies, and performing advanced procedures as needed.
  • Schedule and provide direction to Radiologic Technologists.
  • Coordinate the flow of patients through diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform routine and complex radiologic procedures as needed.
  • Assist radiologists in evaluating new products and equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance of X‑ray equipment and resolve any malfunctions.
  • Oversee and coordinate quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
  • Establish quality measures and standards.
  • Conduct employee evaluations and address problems by providing feedback on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop and conduct employee training programs.
  • Regularly meet with and communicate operational changes to staff.
  • Assist in developing short‑ and long‑term goals and objectives.
  • Review and administer departmental policies, procedures, and related forms in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
  • Ensure staff observe radiation protection techniques such as using beam‑restrictive devices, shielding patients, and maintaining knowledge of applicable exposure factors to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
  • Ensure the staffing needs of the department are met by projecting needs, interviewing candidates to fill positions, and resolving staffing issues.
  • Perform related responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • CPI certification required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience, including at least one (1) year of supervisory or Level 3 RT experience.
Physical Requirements

Medium: 20–50 lbs; 0–33 % of the work day (occasionally); 11–25 lbs, 34–66 % of the workday (frequently); 01–10 lbs, 67–100 % of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, occasional sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and tasks.

Environmental Factors

Factors affecting environmental conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: blood‑borne pathogens, bio‑hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, may be necessary depending on the assigned work area and tasks.
