Summary:

The Radiology Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, support other imaging technologists as needed, and facilitate smooth patient flow. The technologist must be flexible to work different shifts and at various campuses. Responsibilities include troubleshooting basic maintenance, participating in QA, resolving issues related to image processing and archiving, and engaging in ongoing education and safety practices. The technologist must adhere to imaging competencies outlined by management and demonstrate communication skills aligned with the organization's mission and values.

Spohn Hospital Alice, established in 1999, serves the healthcare needs of Alice and surrounding communities. It is a Level IV Trauma Center with 186 licensed beds, offering comprehensive medical, surgical, pediatric, obstetric, emergency, intensive care, and cardiac services.

Responsibilities:

5. Enhance physician satisfaction by providing meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians.
6. Protect patient confidentiality and only disclose information as necessary for job duties.
7. Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet individual needs.
8. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and standards of care.
9. Perform examinations/procedures to assist patient throughput within scope of licensure and competencies.
10. Demonstrate flexibility by working different shifts and campuses as needed.
11. Ensure exams are properly scanned and stored in PACS.
12. Follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate issues appropriately.
13. Report equipment malfunctions and follow up accordingly.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or equivalent.

Experience:

• 1 year hospital experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

• Radiography (R) by ARRT required.
• State licensure as applicable: Texas (MRT by TMB), Louisiana (LRT (R) or (F) by LSRTBE), New Mexico (RRT by MIRTP NMED).
• BLS certification required.
