Description

Summary:

The Radiology Technologist will perform a variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, support other imaging technologists, and facilitate smooth patient flow. Flexibility to work different shifts and campuses is required. The technologist must troubleshoot basic maintenance issues, participate in QA, and resolve image processing and archiving system problems. Ongoing education, safety, and technical updates within licensure scope are expected. The technologist must adhere to imaging competencies as outlined by management, demonstrating professionalism aligned with the organization's mission, values, and culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow departmental policies regarding behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability.
  • Support staff growth and engagement by collaborating with management, coworkers, and physicians.
  • Assist radiologists and referring physicians to promote physician satisfaction.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and only disclose information as necessary for job duties.
  • Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet individual needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care mandated by regulatory agencies.
  • Perform examinations/procedures to assist in patient throughput within scope of license and competencies.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by working different shifts and campuses as needed.
  • Ensure exams are properly scanned and stored in PACS.
  • Follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and follow up accordingly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent.
  • Preferably 1 year of hospital experience.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Radiography (R) certification by ARRT required.
  • State licensure required, e.g., MRT by TMB in Texas.
  • BLS certification required.
