Job summary

Optum is hiring a Radiology Technologist in California to perform diagnostic X-ray exams and support high-quality patient care. The role requires CA AMA-approved Radiologic Technology training, CRT, ARRT certification, and BLS.

Responsibilities include adhering to Radiology policies, ensuring safety protocols, coordinating with radiologists, and maintaining equipment and QC checks. On-site work with a strong patient-centered approach is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Graduate of AMA-approved Radiological Technology School.
• CRT certification in Radiology and Fluoroscopy with the State of California Department of Public Health/Radiologic Health Branch.
• Current ARRT certification.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA).
• Driver's License and access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiology procedures under guidelines in the Radiology Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Adheres to safety guidelines including dosimetry monitoring and shielding.
• Follows standing orders and portable imaging protocols for exams and radiologist requirements.
• Reviews schedules at least 24–48 hours in advance.
• Verifies patient identifiers prior to procedures and obtains consent when required.
• Provides patient prep instructions, maintains dignity, and ensures accurate positioning and exposure.
• Reschedules appointments with Radiology Manager approval.
• Maintains equipment and conducts daily QC tests as required by the manufacturer.
• Identifies concerns on images and routes to radiologist for interpretation.
