Job summary

The role includes cross-training into other modalities as needed. The ideal candidate has graduated from an accredited radiology program, holds state certification, and has BLS; ARRT is preferred and bilingual communication is valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiology program.
• Current state certification (Texas Medical Board) required.
• ARRT general certification preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS and PALS recommended.
• Bilingual sensibility and cultural awareness.
• Secretarial experience and organizational skills necessary.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• English reading, writing and speaking required; Spanish preferred.
• Clear communication with nurses, admins and physicians; computer knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Promote the facility mission, vision and values to others.
• Prepare supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures.
• Perform quality control and maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain equipment, supplies and work area cleanliness.
• Perform X-ray and Fluoroscopy procedures in a timely manner.
• Follow procedure protocols to optimize imaging while minimizing radiation.
• Interpret verbal orders accurately and directions, handle patient specimens.
• Document patient records per policy and ensure accuracy.
• Operate facility computer systems; ensure exams are in PACS and RIS.
• Assist in training radiologic technologists on protocols.
• Adhere to TDH, ACR, CMS and Joint Commission standards; maintain competencies.
• Operate clinical equipment safely; complete employment requirements including Health.edu and Credentials.
• Call is required if assigned to surgery; perform other duties as assigned.
