Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Lakeland, Florida, is seeking a Radiology Technologist to operate radiographic equipment and produce diagnostic radiographs. The qualified candidate must hold an ARRT certification, complete an accredited program, and possess a Florida Radiology Technologist license. Job description

Description
  • Demonstrates competency in the operation of all radiographic equipment assigned to radiology department. Prepares the patient and work environment for the successful completion of radiographic examination.
  • Produces diagnostic radiographs according to department standards and protocols and provides pertinent information on x-ray requests. Performs basic patient care protocols according to department guidelines under the direction of the radiologists. Assist with emergency code situations in accordance with clinic policies. Demonstrates proper radiation safety procedures.
  • Functions as a delegated agent of the physician and practices under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Use independent, professional, ethical judgment, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic medical procedures. A fundamental approach to the safe use of diagnostic medical ultrasound is to apply elements of the AS Low As Reasonably Achievable ("ALARA") Principle including lowest output power and shortest scan time consistent with acquiring the required diagnostic information. Produces diagnostic radiographs according to department standards and protocols and provides pertinent information on x-ray requests. Uses proper patient positioning and techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures involved with the operation of X-ray equipment use; human anatomy and proper positioning of patients to secure desired images; methods used in processing images. Ability to administer first aid in emergency medical situations (CPR). Must have equivalent of 3 years (6,240 hours) continuous x-ray, DEXA, and Fluoroscopy experience (education program -does not count) within the last 6 years with no more than 1 year break in experience within the last 4 years.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience - Satisfactory completion accredited program. Certified by ARRT. High School or GED required. FL Licensed Radiology Technologist. CPR Certification within 90 days of employment.
