Job summary

AdventHealth Louisville is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic imaging safely and efficiently in a part‑time Day shift. The role includes preparing rooms, maintaining equipment, and documenting in EMR/PACS while upholding infection control and privacy standards.

Applicants should have knowledge of ER/OR/fluoroscopy, be able to set technical factors, and be able to work collaboratively in a busy setting. ARRT RT and BLS required; 1+ year experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ER, OR, and Fluoroscopic imaging procedures.
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions.
  • Ability to determine appropriate technical factors.
  • Knowledge of Radiographic and Fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate staff.
  • Ability to multi‑task under stress with large patient volumes.
  • Good organizational skills; basic computer skills; Excel/Word/Outlook preferred.
  • Ability to learn and use radiology software packages.
  • Maintain required radiology registrations and licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete procedures safely.
  • Perform direct patient care duties within technologist scope; monitor patient condition.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and equipment is cleaned and safe.
  • Follow ALARA concepts to keep exposure low for patient and staff.
  • Record accurate patient demographics and exam information in EMR/PACS.
  • Cross-train into advanced modalities as needed; maintain patient privacy.

Job Description

Other duties as assigned. Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely. Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist's scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques. Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks. Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low. Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff. Performs radiographic imaging procedures, ensuring high‑quality images that meet department standards. Positions patients and equipment, selecting technical factors to produce radiographic images safely and in a timely manner. Performs imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information. Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems. Assists patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort, safety, and privacy, in compliance with regulatory guidelines. Cross‑trains into advanced modalities as needed. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, team members, and others of diverse backgrounds.

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]; additional skills in Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook [Preferred]
  • Ability to learn and use radiology software packages [Required]
  • Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging [Required]
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Preferred]
  • Responsible to maintain all required continuing and annual education [Required]
  • Ability to follow basic radiation safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patient and staff [Required]
  • Adult/and child/infant CPR [Required]
  • Deemed competent to perform in two modalities in Diagnostic Imaging [Required]
