Radiology Technologist - Full Time - Rotating

Job Description

Eligible candidates may qualify for a hiring bonus.

Performs routine radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable examinations in the diagnostic department of Radiology, on nursing units, outpatient areas, and the surgery department.

Responsibilities
  • Takes radiographs per physician orders.
  • Ensures 95% of films are satisfactory, as measured by repeat rate.
  • Completes exams following procedures outlined in the routine book, including signing out requests with correct information.
  • Includes pertinent patient history in requests.
  • Versatile within the diagnostic department, capable of working in various areas without assistance.
  • Performs all exams listed in the routine book.
  • Protects patients and staff from unnecessary radiation, using appropriate shielding and technical factors.
  • Uses coning and lead markers on all films.
  • Maintains knowledge of front desk operations, computer systems, and reports equipment issues.
  • Schedules exams and interacts professionally with other departments.
  • Calls in on-call imaging staff as needed.
  • Reports equipment problems promptly to engineering and managers.
  • Performs duties related to equipment quality assurance, regulatory compliance, supply ordering, staff scheduling, and audits.
  • Accesses patient records only as necessary for duties, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Documents record access appropriately.
Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills: Graduation from an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program, knowledge of medical terminology, sterile techniques, patient positioning, and equipment operation.

Licenses & Certifications: Must have ARRT certification in Radiology and obtain a valid Ohio Radiographer license within 4 weeks of employment.
