1XC04

PVH employment application required. All job offers are contingent upon background check and completion of pre-employment physical.

Position is full-time, 36 hours/week, with flexible shifts. Call and holiday rotation. Hourly rate, non-exempt, union position.

SIGN ON BONUS: The bonus amount is $5,000. 25% paid after the probationary period, 25% at 6 months, and 50% after the first year of employment.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Adjust technical factors and utilize proper shielding and immobilization devices for pediatric patients.
  2. Use proper technical factors and shielding for adolescents, explain procedures in an understandable manner, and inquire about pregnancy risk for female patients.
  3. Modify procedures and technical factors for geriatric patients and communicate effectively.
  4. Assist Radiologist with fluoroscopic and special procedures.
  5. Perform daily Quality Control tests.
  6. Troubleshoot equipment issues in the absence of the chief technologist.
  7. Maintain supplies and reorder from central supply.
  8. Clean X-ray rooms and disinfect equipment.
  9. Clean CR/DR plates and panels.
  10. Burn CDs.
  11. Handle faxing and photocopying as needed.
  12. Perform clerical duties as required.
  13. Enter Mammogram statistics into the computer accurately.
  14. Operate all X-ray equipment, including Phillips, GE, AMx4 portable, and CT scanner.
  15. Use LoRad MIV unit and perform all aspects of Mammography (Mammo techs only).
  16. Assist during biopsy procedures.
  17. Complete all paperwork promptly.
  18. Have working knowledge of CR/DR systems and PACs.
  19. Follow proper radiation protection principles.
  20. Operate X-ray film digitizer effectively.

Quality Improvement

Participate actively in hospital-wide Quality Improvement programs, support department-specific initiatives, suggest process improvements, report quality issues, and commit to organizational excellence.

Community and Emergency Preparedness

As a PVH employee, participate in emergency/disaster preparedness planning and drills, and respond to real-life emergencies within your scope of practice.

Minimum Requirements

Graduate from an AMA-approved radiologic technology school, hold a Maine license, and be registered with the ARRT. Develop or have experience in CT and/or Mammo modalities. Must have or develop competency in multiple imaging modalities, including X-Ray, fluoroscopy, portable X-ray, CT, Bone Densitometry, C-arm, Mammography, CR, DR, and hospital IT systems.
