Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist Assistant to support the radiology department with clerical duties, room preparation, patient transport, and excellent patient service. The role involves assisting with patient readiness for examinations, coordinating with technologists, and maintaining safe exam rooms.

The ideal candidate has 1 year in a medical setting, a high school diploma or equivalent, and CPR certification. Training in radiologic technology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical field preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of experience in lieu of education required.
• Training and/or enrollment in a Radiologic Technology program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing rooms for patients and cleaning rooms after procedures.
• Stock supplies and linen, transport patients and answer phones.
• Identify orders in Epic and coordinate with technologists for examination protocols.
• Maintain exam rooms in a neat and safe condition and ensure patient safety.
• Assist patients on and off examination tables and help with room setup for procedures.

Job description

Your job is more than a job. The Radiology Technologist Assistant assists the department with various clerical requirements. Assists with preparing rooms for patients, cleaning rooms after patients, stocking supplies and linen, transporting patients, answering phones, communicating with technologists and being an integral part of a positive patient experience. Your Everyday Transports patients throughout radiology, including possibly to and from emergency department or inpatient units. Facilitates getting patients ready for examinations. Assists patients off and on the examination tables. Sets up rooms for examinations or procedures. Maintains exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition, to ensure the safety of the patients and employees. Recognizes emergent situations and responds appropriately. Calls codes as needed. Identifies orders in epic, coordinates with technologist and radiologists when protocols are needed for examination. Check current lab values on patients receiving contrast. Adheres to the hospital policy on body substance isolation, demonstrates safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department and hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines, to ensure the safety of the patients and staff. Answers telephone, taking messages and returning calls when instructed.

The Must-Haves EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical field preferred.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Required: 2 years of experience in lieu of education.
• Preferred: Training and/or enrollment in a Radiologic Technology program preferred.
