The technologist must have excellent communication skills and maintain a high level of accuracy in reporting x-ray results while meeting physical requirements, including occasional lifting and walking.***JOB FUNCTIONS*****Patient Care:** • Accurately and safely performs radiologic procedures in a timely manner within scope of practice or as directed by physician or nurse practitioner.**Equipment Maintenance:** • Responsible for proper use and care of x-ray equipment and supplies.**Inventory and Supplies:** • Responsible for maintaining and/or ordering proper levels of inventory and supplies needed in the clinic for cost efficient, quality care of patients.**Regulatory Knowledge:** • Responsible for practicing in accordance with JCAHO, State Board of Health, and OSHA standards.***Knowledge Skills and Abilities:*** • Maintains and enhances knowledge and skills in current technology to provide care to infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. • This position has primary accountability for organizing and performing x-ray procedures promptly and accurately to assure valid readings and to communicate these findings to the appropriate persons. • Skills required include the ability to set priorities, work in a fast-paced environment and to work independently. • The incumbent has extensive contact with patients, families, and staff. • It is imperative that the incumbent perform with a high level of professional and ethical conduct at all times; have excellent communication skills; and reflect a positive, caring attitude toward patients, families, and other staff. ***Physical Demands:*** A thorough completion of this section is needed for compliance with legal standards such as the Americans with Disabilities Act.
