Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist in Scottsdale, AZ. You will independently perform radiographic procedures using ARRT certification to support diagnoses and treatment plans, while providing a comforting, professional patient experience.

You will educate patients about procedures, collaborate with healthcare teams, and maintain equipment quality and safety. The role requires a certificate or diploma in Radiology, ARRT certification, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited school of Radiology.
  • National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • BLS certification required.
  • 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card is required for Banner Scottsdale Sports Medicine staff.

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiographic procedures according to department guidelines with independent judgment.
  • Educates patients and families about procedures and risk factors.
  • Produces high-quality images and maintains documentation.
  • Operates and troubleshoots imaging equipment while ensuring safety.
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to ethical and legal standards.
  • Supports workflow, inventory, and non-interruption of services.
  • Independently performs prescribed radiographic procedures per facility policies.

Primary City/State: Scottsdale, Arizona Department Name: Scottsdale-Img Ctr Work Shift: Day Job Category: Clinical Care New location to open in early 2027. The three-story facility will bring a broad range of services together in one convenient location, including Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, cardiovascular care, medical and surgical specialties, neurosciences, specialty pharmacy, imaging and urgent care. Physicians and team members will have the opportunity to help build an integrated care environment designed around collaboration, technology and a coordinated patient experience. Providers and staff will work across specialties to make it easier for patients to access care, navigate services and receive support throughout their health care journey. Located in one of the Valley's growing communities, Banner Health Center plus represents an important expansion of Banner Health's presence and services in North Scottsdale. Team members will have the opportunity to join a new multidisciplinary setting, contribute to its development and help shape how care is delivered from the beginning.

Schedule: Monday-Friday work schedule with hours of availability of 7:30am-5:15pm. Shifts are 8 hours with a 30-minute lunch break.

As a Radiologic Technologist, you'll be empowered to use your ARRT certification and clinical expertise to independently perform sophisticated radiographic procedures that directly impact patient diagnoses and treatment plans, all while creating a comforting and professional experience for patients and families during vulnerable moments. CORE FUNCTIONS
  1. Performs radiographic procedures and analysis according to departmental guidelines. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.
  2. Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed as well as risk factors and prevention. Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions; fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes.
  3. Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.
  4. Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures if applicable in accordance with established policies.
  5. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to safety policies.
  6. Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.
  7. Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department by performing other duties as assigned. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.
  8. Independently performs prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols to patients.

Internal customers: All levels of medical imaging and nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team.

External Customers: regulatory and health agencies, patients and family members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited school of Radiology program.
  • Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable.
  • BLS certification required.
  • This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 1 year of experience.
  • Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, analyze data and solve problems.
  • Employees working at Banner Scottsdale Sports Medicine, second floor must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
