Job summary

South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform radiography procedures and evaluate radiographs for technical quality. You will work under staff radiologists following prescribed protocols and ensure accurate imaging.

The role requires competence in radiographic procedures, proper patient history intake, and collaboration with radiologists and supervisors to maintain workflow and safety standards across STRIC’s outpatient imaging centers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; graduate from AMA approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT (R) eligible or certified; Texas MRT certification; current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic radiography procedures and achieves high film quality.
• Observes film artifacts and maintains equipment cleanliness; documents procedures.
• Obtains patient history and assists radiologist during procedures; puts patient at ease.
• Informs supervisor of items needed from storeroom or vendors.
• Demonstrates ability to shut down radiologic equipment and reboot computers.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking aRadiology Technologistwho will maintain technical skills needed to perform radiography procedures as well as the evaluation of radiographs for technical quality. Must be competent in performing radiographic procedures. All aspects of conducting examination will be in accordance with prescribed protocols established by staff radiologists.

What you will do in this role:

• Performs diagnostic procedures as required; achieves a high level of film quality.
• Observant for film artifacts and keeps them to a minimum; cleans cassettes as necessary.
• Documents upon completion of procedures; documents all stat reads according to departmental policies.
• Obtains patient history as needed; assists radiologist during procedures, helping to put the patient at ease.
• Advises supervisor of any items needed from the storeroom or vendors.
• Demonstrates ability to shut down radiologic equipment and/or reboot computers.

What qualifications you will need:

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:

• Education: High School Graduate (or GED) Required. Graduate from an AMA approved radiologic technology program.
• Experience:3. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).

Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:

• Required: a. ARRT (R) or registry eligible, b. Certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services MRT program, c. Current BLS certification.
