Job summary

St. David's Round Rock Medical Center seeks a Radiology Technologist to operate X-ray equipment for routine and semi-complex imaging and to provide patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting.

You will prepare patients, acquire high-quality images, process films or transmit to PACS, ensure safety, and adhere to regulatory standards while delivering compassionate care within the St. David's HealthCare system.

Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support within 30 days of start date.
  • ARRT-R Radiography certification.
  • RT Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer credential.
  • Associate degree or certificate required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and take x-rays following procedures for patient safety.
  • Develop and process films or transmit to Radiologist.
  • Administer contrast media within scope and regulations.
  • Ensure prompt transfer of images to PACS with correct markers.
  • Turn over and prepare room using aseptic technique between patients.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Radiology Technologist, you will operate standard, portable, and specialized X-ray equipment to perform routine and semi-complex radiographic examinations used by physicians for diagnosis and treatment. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.


  • You will prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety

  • You will develop and process films and transmit to a Radiologist for interpretation

  • You will administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations

  • You will ensure prompt transfer of images and documents to PACS system (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history)

  • You will turn over and prepare room using aseptic technique between patients and clean / sterilize equipment

  • You will follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines

What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (ARRT-R) Radiography
  • (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer
  • Associate Degree, or Certificate
