Job summary

St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, part of St. David's HealthCare, is seeking a Radiology Technologist to operate X-ray equipment for diagnostic imaging and provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

You will prepare patients, perform radiographic examinations, process and transmit images to PACS, administer contrast within scope, and uphold radiation safety and quality standards in collaboration with Radiologists.

Qualifications

  • Patient care skills for radiologic procedures and post-procedure monitoring.
  • Knowledge of radiographic safety and positioning for diagnostic exams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Develop and process films and transmit to a Radiologist for interpretation.
  • Administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure prompt transfer of images and documents to PACS system (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Turn over and prepare room using aseptic technique between patients and clean / sterilize equipment.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Radiology Technologist, you will operate standard, portable, and specialized X-ray equipment to perform routine and semi-complex radiographic examinations used by physicians for diagnosis and treatment. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

  • You will prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety
  • You will develop and process films and transmit to a Radiologist for interpretation
  • You will administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations
  • You will ensure prompt transfer of images and documents to PACS system (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history)
  • You will turn over and prepare room using aseptic technique between patients and clean / sterilize equipment
  • You will follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines
What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (ARRT-R) Radiography
  • (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer
  • Associate Degree, or Certificate
