Altus Community Healthcare is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform radiographic and CT imaging procedures in the ER department. The role requires patient positioning, contrast administration, and strict adherence to ALARA radiation safety principles to protect patients and staff.
The ideal candidate has an accredited radiologic technology education and at least 1 year of radiologic/imaging experience, including CT, with ARRT (R) and state licensure.
The Radiology Technologist will operate radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs of the body, following protocols established by the ER physician and radiologist. The technologist will position patients and tables to obtain optimum views of the requested body area, and practice radiation safety with the ALARA principle, using beam‑restrictive devices, patient shielding, and appropriate exposure factors to maximize protection for patients and staff.
The technologist will also operate CT scan equipment to produce computed tomography (CT) scans as directed by the ER physician and radiologist protocol. Responsibilities include administering contrast (IV and oral), monitoring for reactions, completing necessary documentation, and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction while producing exams of diagnostic quality.
