Job summary

Avera Gettysburg Hospital is seeking a Radiology Technologist to operate radiographic and CT equipment and provide high-quality diagnostic images. Join a mission-driven team in a setting that values care, safety, and professional growth.

Day shift, with weekend rotation; opportunities for sign-on bonuses and student loan repayment may be available. PTO begins on day one and comprehensive benefits are offered to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's or certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.
• ARRT certification within 60 days of hire is required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced radiology department with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiology procedures accurately and efficiently according to standards.
• Initiates appropriate intervention to radiologist when an exam requires attention.
• Reviews indications for exams and reports inappropriate indications to supervisor.
• Provides exam data in a complete and accurate format for interpretation.
• Maintains and uses PACS, RIS, HIS and EMR systems; performs general clerical duties.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewAccountable for the proficient operations of the radiographic and CT equipment to provide clinically diagnostic images as directed by physicians.What you will doPerforms various radiology procedures accurately, efficiently and according to established standards and protocols.Initiates proper intervention to radiologist or referring practitioner when an exam indicates immediate attention.Reviews appropriate indications for exams ordered and reports inappropriate indications to supervisor.Provides exam data in a complete and accurate format for presentation to reading radiologist for interpretation.Utilizes computer systems such as PACS, RIS, HIS EMR systems and performs general clerical duties.Archives image data for permanent storage and appropriately sends images to radiologist group. Retrieves stored images form PACS or disc back-up and make CDs successfully.Demonstrates an understanding of medical and legal implications and responsibilities related to the imagine reports and images to protect the patient and the organization.Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, and environment and infection control.Assists/mentors staff/student with on the job training, clinical rotations and orientation.Assists with analysis, collection and maintenance of records as required by department manager, Quality Improvement, Joint Commission, MDH, ACR standards, OSHA guidelines or as may be required by the facility or law.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
