Job summary

Medical City Alliance in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Full Time Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic radiography, C-arm, fluoroscopy, portable and surgical procedures under a Radiologist's supervision. You will respond to on-call requests within 30 minutes and contribute to patient comfort and safety.

The ideal candidate has MRT/ARRT and BLS certifications (or registry eligible), technical or vocational training, and at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Technical or vocational training completed.
• Prefer minimum 1 year of radiology experience.
• ARRT/MRT and BLS certifications required or eligible with ARRT obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates x-ray equipment to take radiographs of designated body parts.
• Under Radiologist supervision, perform x-ray/fluoro procedures on patients.
• Explain procedures to patients and address concerns.
• May administer contrast agents as needed.
• Follow radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure.

Hours:Monday 8am - 18:00pm, Tuesday - Thursday 15:00pm-23:30pm

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Performs Diagnostic Radiographic, C-Arm, Fluoroscopy, Portable, and Surgery Procedures. Must be able to be on an on-call status and respond within thirty (30) minutes of notification.
• The Radiologic Technologist conducts radiologic procedures to provide data to assist in the diagnosis of patients.
• The positions tasks and responsibilities include:
• Operates x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.
• Under the supervision of a Radiologist, performs x-ray/fluoro procedures on patients.
• Explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
• May administer barium salts or other chemical mixtures.
• Operates stationary equipment and/or portable equipment used in the Emergency Department, Operating Room and at patient bedside.
• Takes pictures and develops film.
• Monitors, records and communicates as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.
• Orients and mentors new staff members.
• Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
• Provides a safe environment for administering contrast material.
• Assists with transporting patients.
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to make independent decisions while maintaining tact, maturity and a positive attitude. Initiative and judgment required in assuming responsibilities.

What qualifications you will need:

Education/Skills:

• Technical or vocational training.

Experience:

• Prefer at least 1 year of experience.

Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications:

• MRT, BLS, and ARRT, or be registry eligible with the ARRT; if only registry-eligible, ARRT must be obtained within 90 days of hire. BLS certification must be obtained by an HCA approved vendor.
