Job summary

Southcoast Health in Fall River, MA is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join our team and perform radiologic procedures under supervision, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety. You will position patients, choose imaging equipment, and optimize results with ALARA.

Qualified applicants will have an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT Radiography certification within 1 year, MA/RI licensure, ARRT registration and BLS, and be vaccinated or approved for exemption.

Qualifications

• Completed an accredited Radiologic Technology program and obtained ARRT Radiography certification.
• Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island RT licensure is required based on location.
• ARRT registration and BLS certification are required.
• Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption is required after hire.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients for exams and document data in the EHR.
• Position patients and select imaging equipment and supplies.
• Identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality.
• Apply ALARA to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
• Assist physicians during procedures.

We are searching for a talented Radiology Technologist

*$8,000 new hire sign-on bonus for this position. (rehires termed more than 1 year also eligible)*

Hours: 24 flex 32hrs

Shift: Day/Evening shift; Weekdays hours: 3:00pm - 7:00pm twice a week, 3:00pm - 11:30pm once weekly; Weekend hours 10:30am - 7:00pm

Location: Charlton Memorial Hospital - Fall River, MA

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Radiology Clinical Services or designee, perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patient*s chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others and aware of MR safety practices. Assist physicians in performing procedures.

• Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology and attainment of primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography within one year of eligibility.
• Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island is required based on location assignment.
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
