Responsibilities

• Perform provider-ordered radiographic examinations for specific anatomical parts allowed by licensure.
• Position patients properly and use radiation protection.
• Set electronic/technical factors to safeguard patient, x-ray tube, and equipment; report malfunctions.
• Assist in medical documentation and clinical assistant duties under provider supervision.
• Promote positive culture and teamwork; deliver excellent patient care.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas and equipment.
• Travel to other facilities or adjust hours to meet patient care needs as directed by manager.

Job description

Primary Function/General Purpose Of Position

This role performs digital X-ray studies on patients per the orders placed by providers. This is a multi-skilled clinical professional who works within the scope of practice to assist in patient care under the direction of the provider.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs provider ordered radiographic examinations for specific anatomical parts allowed by obtained licensure
• Conducts proper patient positioning, immobilization, utilizing appropriate radiation protection
• Determines and selects proper electronic and technical factors which safeguard the patient, x-ray tube, and equipment, and reports immediately any malfunction, necessary adjustments, or repairs of equipment to supervisor
• Assists in medical documentation and clinical assistant duties as directed and supervised by the Provider
• Participates in promotion of positive culture and teamwork and demonstrates excellence in care in all interactions, for both patients and internal teams
• Maintains a safe and supportive environment by keeping the work area, exam rooms, and equipment in clean, orderly, and safe manner
• Understands and adheres to the legal responsibilities and requirements within the role
• Travels to other facilities if necessary or adjusting work hours to meet patient care needs as directed by the manager
• Performs cross-functional duties as needed, including front desk duties such as registration, scheduling, answering phones and other duties not limited to scribing, ordering of supplies
