JOB TITLE: Radiology Technologist Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Director of Imaging Services
POSITION SUMMARY:The Radiology Technologist Supervisor assists with the hiring of frontline staff and during the interview process for a successful transition for newly hired staff. Assists in yearly evaluations and disciplining of staff. Helps create schedules in order to have all modalities of imaging properly staffed and covered. Assists with the purchase ordering system to keep equipment functioning and supplies stocked. Serves as another advocate for imaging staff when Radiology Director is not present, or is present but needs another supportive voice. Assists with yearly inspections from CDPH, Joint Commission, or any other governing branch that inspects the hospital. Operates radiographic equipment to obtain radiography images of designatedareas of the body as requested by the physician. Assess the patient’s condition and ability to cooperate with given instructions. Positions patients and equipment; selects appropriate technical factors to produce thesatisfactory quality radiography images, while maintaining a high level of radiation safety and following theALARA principle. This job requires the technologist to provide care for the population served. Ability to meet the specific needs of the various age groups maybe gained through previous education, experiences, and/or additional education and training. Performs all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Completion of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) approved program as a Radiology Technologist (RT) preferred. Experience as a Radiology Tech in an acute care setting preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:ARRT RT certification required. CA CRT license and fluoroscopy certification required. If new grad, fluoroscopy certification required within 12 months from hire date. Venipuncture certification preferred. Current BLS.
