Job summary

University of Kentucky's Gill Heart Institute is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist to join our Cardiac Cath/EP team. You will scrub and assist during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral studies, and contribute to patient care in a high-volume lab.

We require AS, ARRT RT, KY Radiation Operator License, BLS now, with ACLS, PALS and CET within 6 months. Four 10-hour shifts, on-site in Lexington, with weekend call and a sign-on bonus of up to $30,000 for an 18-month commitment.

Qualifications

  • Cardiac Cath/EP experience preferred but any rad tech experience is acceptable.
  • AS degree required and ARRT RT certification.
  • KY Radiation Operator License required; BLS at time of hire; ACLS, PALS and CET within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Scrub/assist the physician during diagnostic and interventional Cardiac and Peripheral angiography studies.
  • Record and monitor procedures and understanding of hemodynamic measurements.
  • Provide adequate call coverage per departmental need.

Kentucky State Radiation Operators License + American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered Radiologic Technologist ( ARRT RT ) + Basic Life Support ( BLS ) at time of hire; plus Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS ), Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support ( PALS ) and Certified EKG Technician ( CET ) within 6 months of hire

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to regularly lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to and over 50 lbs.; occasionally stand or walk with objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; regularly perform tasks requiring repetitive motions; and occasionally sit at a computer workstation for an extended period of time.

Shift

Four 10-hour weekday shifts per week, 7:00am – 5:30pm. Shift can be scheduled for any weekday.

Call coverage required including weekends and holidays. The call back is 30 minutes.

Job Summary

Cardiac Cath and EP Technologist will demonstrate knowledge of Interventional, Structural, Pediatric, and Electrophysiology procedures. Technologist will scrub/assist the physician during diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac and Peripheral angiographic studies. The technologist is also able to record and monitor procedures and demonstrate understanding of hemodynamic measurements and readings from the valve areas. Technologist will provide adequate call coverage per departmental need.
